IDrive is an excellent online backup service with a wealth of features. This includes external hard drive backup, mobile apps for iPhone and Android, private key encryption and cloud storage features. You can read our IDrive review to learn more about the service, but here we’ll focus specifically on the IDrive pricing structure.

Instead of offering unlimited backup storage, like Backblaze or Carbonite do, IDrive cloud backup lets you backup an unlimited number of desktop and mobile devices with a single account, but with a limit on storage space. If you want to learn more about how IDrive compares to these services, check out our IDrive vs Carbonite and IDrive vs Backblaze comparisons.

IDrive Pricing Plans

Each IDrive cloud backup plan comes with a different amount of storage space for your data. The IDrive Personal plans offer either 2TB or 5TB for $69.50 or $99.50 per year, and the IDrive Business plans range from 250GB of data for $99.50 per year to 12.5TB of data for $2,999.50 per year.

For the most part, the Personal and Business plans are very similar. However, there are some additional features included in IDrive for Business. This includes the ability to create multiple IDrive cloud accounts, support for single sign-on, priority support and three free uses of IDrive Express, as opposed to just one.

Although these prices are very reasonable, those who prefer a one-time payment over a monthly subscription can compare the Acronis Backup pricing vs IDrive. Both of these online backup services offer many of the same features, but Acronis requires only a single payment rather than a recurring subscription.

For the most part, IDrive cloud backup offers only annual billing. However, the four most expensive Business plans also have a monthly pricing option, though at a higher rate than the yearly subscription.

There is currently a 25-percent discount on the first year of IDrive for new users. This lowers the IDrive Personal pricing to $52.12 and $74.62 for the first year for the 2TB and 5TB plan, respectively. For Business plans, this brings the price range down to $74.62 to $2,249.62 per year.

First-Time Signup Discount

However, this discount is a time-limited offer that only applies to users signing up for an IDrive account for the first time, so the costs listed in the above table reflect the IDrive pricing after first year discounts have expired.

Aside from IDrive’s paid backup plans, there’s also a basic plan that offers 5GB of free storage with all of the features of a personal IDrive account.

Those who are more interested in the IDrive cloud storage features — such as syncing and sharing data — can compare clouds in our cloud storage chart.

Additionally, because you can use IDrive only with Mac and Windows on desktop, but not Linux devices, make sure to read our list of the best online backup for Linux if you use this open-source operating system.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, IDrive cloud backup is an excellently priced service, especially if you don’t need unlimited storage space, are interested in backing up several desktop and mobile devices with a single account, and want the wide range of features that IDrive cloud backup offers.
