Though it’s off the air now, Timeless stands as one of the very few shows canceled before their time that has a satisfying finale. It follows three time travelers as they fix American history from sabotage by a mysterious organization named Rittenhouse. Timeless aired on NBC for its first season, but was canceled because those 16 episodes didn’t garner the audience the network wanted to see. We also presume the high cost of making a show set in the past played its part; ruffled dresses and horse-drawn carriages don’t come cheap. 

In the end, though, NBC decided to opt for a second season of Timeless. However, after those 10 episodes went out, they concluded that axing the show worked out better, though not before commissioning a special two-part finale that tied up most of the show’s loose ends.

The show offers a good mix of American history, action and suspense, while the characters and their interactions will keep you amused. NBC has no streaming service, so unlike, say, Arrow, you can’t watch Timeless on a proprietary online channel. Hulu is a great streaming service that offers tons of shows, among them Archer and The Handmaid’s Tale, so when you’re done with Timeless, you have plenty more to watch after.
